Best Marine Automation (BMA) is a B2B marine equipment and automation solutions company established in 2005, based in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Over two decades, they have grown into a global supplier and e-commerce platform for marine spare parts, industrial automation components, and vessel equipment — serving ships, tankers, and offshore rigs across 100+ countries.
BMA approached WOSAG to build a high-performance e-commerce platform that could handle a catalogue of 500+ products across brands like Alfa Laval, Caterpillar, Honeywell, Sulzer, GEA, Delta Mobrey, and more — while supporting bulk ordering, real-time order tracking, global shipping logistics, and 24/7 technical support workflows.
The goal was clear: replace an outdated web presence with a professional, scalable e-commerce platform that matched BMA's global operational scale and gave international buyers — from vessel operators to procurement teams on offshore rigs — a trustworthy, fast, and reliable ordering experience.

Marine procurement is a high-stakes, time-sensitive industry. Vessel operators, ship managers, and procurement officers often need parts urgently — a delayed order can mean a vessel sitting idle at port, costing thousands per hour. Our research focused on how marine industry buyers discover, evaluate, and order spare parts online, and what makes them trust one supplier over another.
Key findings: B2B marine buyers prioritise parts authenticity, supplier credentials, and delivery reliability above price. They need to quickly verify whether a part is genuine (from a certified yard or authorized distributor), confirm global shipping availability to their port, and reach technical support fast. A slow, cluttered product catalogue or unclear certification information kills the deal.
These insights shaped the platform architecture — from the filterable product catalogue to the bulk order workflow and the prominent 24/7 support access point visible throughout the purchasing journey.

Mapped BMA's full product catalogue (500+ SKUs across engines, navigation, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and safety equipment), defined the buyer personas — from individual vessel operators to fleet procurement teams — and scoped the e-commerce feature set including bulk ordering, calibration service requests, and buy-back workflows.

Designed a professional, trust-first e-commerce UI with advanced product filtering by brand, category, and vessel type. The design language uses deep navy and steel tones to reflect the marine industry — authoritative and reliable without feeling dated. Product pages were structured to show part authenticity, compatibility specs, and available quantities clearly.

Built on Next.js for performance and SEO, integrated with WooCommerce for the full e-commerce backend — product management, order tracking, payment gateways, and bulk pricing. Custom features included a calibration service request form, bulk order enquiry flow, and a real-time order tracking interface for global shipments.

Building an e-commerce platform for global marine procurement comes with a set of challenges that generic e-commerce solutions simply are not designed to handle. BMA's operation spans 100+ countries, 500+ specialist parts, and buyers with highly specific technical requirements — all of which needed to be reflected in the platform.
We built a Next.js + WooCommerce e-commerce platform purpose-built for marine B2B procurement. The stack was chosen deliberately: Next.js for server-side rendering, fast page loads, and SEO performance across 500+ product pages; WooCommerce for the battle-tested e-commerce backend with the flexibility to extend for marine-specific workflows.
